TÃœBÄ°TAK BÄ°LGEM at the 11th Government Forum on e-ID

TÜBİTAK BİLGEM National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology (UEKAE) participated in the 11th Government Forum on Electronic Identity which was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh between 1-2 December of 2015. The event was organized by the Asia Pacific Smart Card Association (APSCA), and a remarkable number of people from various countries joined the forum. These included not only the Asian countries but also many European and African countries. TÜBİTAK BİLGEM was represented by Assist. Prof. Ercan Ölçer and chief specialist Mustafa Selvi from UEKA e-identity Implementations Department during the event.

The program focused on the theme of how national e-id can support delivery of public and private sector services. Specifically, it dwelt upon three key areas. These were namely: Latest thinking in national electronic identity schemes, delivering secure and legal online digital identity and enabling financial inclusion and online financial services. During the forum, participating countries and firms also emphasized e-identity systems and technologies developed in their countries.
